Artist Bio
Justin Anderson is a Utah based artist with a deep-rooted connection to the state. He discovered his passion for art at an early age as he pursued his artistic interests through formal education.
As a first-generation college student, Justin began his studies at Salt Lake Community College. After earning a BA in illustration, Justin refined his skills and understanding of classical techniques by studying at the Florence Academy of Art.
After returning to Utah, Justin shared his passion for art as he began teaching at SLCC as an Adjunct Instructor in 2008. Justin then pursued an MFA with an emphasis on drawing and painting, expanding his artistic horizons and refining his craft.
Out of necessity, Justin was drawn to the world of business management. He spent time gaining valuable experience, earning an MBA and working in operations management. A life-altering event led Justin to realize that his true calling lay in the world of art. After a brief two-year hiatus, he resumed teaching at SLCC in 2023 and began teaching in the graduate Arts Administration program at SUU. He is currently an Assistant Professor at SLCC. He is enthusiastic about inspiring and mentoring the next generation of art professionals.
Justin is committed to creating meaningful artwork that captures the beauty and essence of the natural world. Through his work, he seeks to inspire others to pursue their passions and embrace the transformative power of art.

Developed a cohesive body of work exploring themes of landscape and figurative depictions, culminating in a successful thesis exhibition.
